FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts, May require early morning, evening, or weekend shifts depending on building needs.

Position Description:

The Facilities Custodian is responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the facility. This role involves daily cleaning and sanitation of building interiors, assisting with maintaining healthy indoor plants, and supporting light maintenance tasks as needed. The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, and takes pride in maintaining a high standard of facility care. 

Essential Duties/ Responsibilities may include the following or other duties as assigned:

• Perform routine cleaning of all common areas including floors, restrooms, kitchens, hallways, and office spaces.
• Empty trash, recycling, and compost bins and replace liners as needed.
• Water and maintain indoor plants throughout the facility; Repot as needed. 
• Assist with basic facility maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, assembling furniture, or reporting issues that require skilled repair.
• Support setup and takedown for internal events or meetings.
• Perform related duties and assist others as required or assigned by management.

• General understanding of facilities upkeep and basic maintenance.
• Time management and ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Effective verbal and written communication.

Minimum Qualifications

•  High school diploma or equivalent
•  Must be 18 years of age or older
•  Strong attention to detail
• Previous custodial, janitorial, or facilities support experience is a plus

• This position requires the physical ability to perform the following:
•  Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, using hands, and lifting up to 50 pounds on occasion.
•  Work is performed indoors and occasionally outdoors in varied weather.
•  Position may require use of equipment, such as scissor lift or ladder. 
•  Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required for certain cleaning or maintenance tasks.
