Job Description - Facilities Engineering Manager

As the Facility Engineering Manager, you will lead and coordinate a team responsible for the repair, maintenance, and installation of machinery, tools, equipment, and the overall upkeep of buildings, grounds, and utility systems. You’ll also play a critical role in supporting and developing manufacturing production processes, ensuring operational excellence across the facility.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and 10+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing management role.
  • Prior experience in facility operations, maintenance leadership, or engineering support.
  • Refrigerant Handling Certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, negotiate, and schedule projects related to: repair, maintenance, installation of machines, tools, equipment, buildings, grounds and utility systems to ensure continuous production and business operations.
  • Coordinates activities of workers fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products.
  • Develops preventive maintenance program in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff.
  • Plans, develops, and implements new methods, equipment and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
  • Reviews new product plans and discusses equipment needs and modifications with design engineers.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
  • Manage company vehicle fleet.
  • Manage office furniture, office space upkeep and janitorial services.
  • Manage relationships with outside contractors, (e.g. security systems, landscaping companies, construction, etc.).
  • Prepares department budget and monitors expenditure of funds in budget.
  • Ensure department activities are completed safely and comply with regulatory agencies. Proactively promote and maintain a safe working environment.
