Position Overview: The General Facilities Worker plays a key role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of buildings and grounds. This position supports daily facility operations through routine maintenance, basic repairs, custodial duties, and assistance with event setups or departmental moves. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team to ensure a well-maintained environment for staff, visitors, and the public.

CANDIDATE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid Indiana driver's license and reliable transportation


• Familiarity with basic tools, cleaning equipment, and building systems a plus


• Ability to follow safety procedures and work independently or as part of a team

• Ability to perform light maintenance and cleaning tasks


• Physical ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods

Responsibilities:

• Perform basic cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing common areas


• Assist with minor repairs and maintenance 


• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of restrooms, offices, and hallways


• Set up and move furniture or equipment as needed


• Help with seasonal tasks, such as snow removal or lawn care


• Respond to facility-related service requests from staff or visitors


• Ensure all areas meet safety and cleanliness standards


• Assist with inventory of supplies and report shortages
  


• Ensure outside resources align with the school’s mission


• Create a positive, Christ-centered learning environment

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods


• Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds


• Use of hands and arms for handling tools, equipment, and cleaning materials


• Occasional climbing of ladders or stairs may be required


• Manual dexterity and visual acuity for basic repairs and inspections
