Facilities Maintenance Assistant

Missoula Children's Theatre is hiring a half time Facilities Maintenance Assistant. 

This Position requires 18-20 hours per week and will be scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday daytime shifts.

Job Summary

Responsible for the maintenance and repair of building systems, equipment, and grounds. Duties include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, minor repairs, irrigation, snow removal, and assistance with facility operations under the direction of the Facilities Manager.

Essential Responsibilities of the Position 

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on mechanical systems.


• Troubleshoot issues/problems with all mechanical systems (heating, air-conditioning, plumbing, lighting, and electrical), reports findings to Facilities Manager.


• Perform routine inspection of building including doors, windows, and roof drains/membrane. Make needed repairs and report to the Facility Manager when outside help is needed.


• Acquire and maintain proper training and licensing for operation of low-pressure boilers.


• Make repairs on systems, fixtures, and/or devices that do not require licensed technicians.


• Become familiar with systems and equipment through review of “as-built” plans and OEM manuals.


• Ensure proper irrigation of all landscaped areas.


• Oversee functioning of irrigation system.


• Assist in snow removal.
  

Non-Essential Responsibilities of the Position

• Lock/unlock building when scheduled.


• Make recommendations to Facilities Manager for system or equipment upgrades.


• Assist contractors when requested and report on activities and status updates to Facility Manager.


• Augment irrigation with hose where necessary


• Assist in special projects as assigned by Facilities Manager


• Participate in scheduled staff meetings.


• Maintain lawn care & snow removal equipment.


• Assist with room set-up and break-down as directed by Facilities Manager


• Supplement custodial staff during times of heavy workload and/or staff shortage as directed by Facilities Manager
  

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma/Certification

Desired Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to sit at a desk for periods exceeding 4 hours, with breaks as needed.


• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.


• Must be able to drive company vehicles when requested.

• Including but not limited to - computer, telephone, copier, printer, fax machine, paper cutter, step ladder, folding ladder, genie lift, table saw, miter saw, electric and hand tools, motorized equipment.
