Facilities Maintenance Associate

The Facilities Maintenance Associate is responsible to perform the regular cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning windows, cleaning offices, break room, meeting rooms and restrooms.  The associate is also responsible for routine facility maintenance such as groundskeeping, waste removal, light bulb replacement and other minor repairs where possible.  Key responsibilities include cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, operating cleaning equipment, restocking supplies, maintaining outdoor grounds, ensuring the overall cleanliness, and functionality of the building.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Cleaning and Sanitation

• Sweep, mop, vacuum and wax floors.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break room, offices, meeting rooms and common areas.
• Clean and and assist with organization of design workspace and warehouse.
• Dust furniture, fixtures and other surfaces.
• Wash walls, windows and other glass surfaces.

Waste Management

• Collect and dispose of trash.
• Empty and clean wastebaskets, garbage and other containers.

Minor Maintenance & Repairs

• Perform minor repairs on equipment and tools.
• Make minor adjustments and repairs to furniture and fixtures.

Groundskeeping

• Maintaining outdoor areas, including sweeping and power washing walkways, cleaning up litter.
• Perform basic clean up and maintenance of flowerbeds, courtyard and building exterior.

Supply Management

• Replenish and restock restrooms and supply stations throughout the building.

Flower Processing

• Assist the Processing department with the receiving, processing and storage of flowers.

Warehouse Receiving and Organization

• Assist the Warehouse Lead with receiving supplies and orders.
• Assist the Warehouse Lead with organization of warehouse and pulling of supplies when necessary.
• All other assigned duties.

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.
• Ability to operate a variety of cleaning and maintenance equipment.
• Knowledge of basic cleaning techniques and the safe use of cleaning chemicals.
• Good physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks.
• Adaptability to work standard hours, including weekends and holidays when necessary.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Prior experience with facility cleaning and warehouse organization.
• Experience with light repair/handyperson experience preferred.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English.
