Position Summary:
Talent Source is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Coordinator to support operations for a major marine facility in San Diego. This role is responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and improvements across the facility, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, industrial machinery, and preventative maintenance tasks. The coordinator will respond to maintenance emergencies, support operational readiness, and work closely with the Facilities Manager to ensure the facility and its equipment are functioning safely and efficiently. US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DBIDS credential are required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Install electrical conduit, wiring, controls, outlets, fixtures, motors, and related components
• Perform plumbing tasks, including threading, soldering, gluing, and assembling piping systems
• Conduct carpentry work such as framing, drywall installation, mud/tape, and painting
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems
• Handle cement and concrete work, including forming, mixing, pouring, and finishing
• Troubleshoot and repair industrial machinery (lathes, drills, shears, brakes, benders)
• Troubleshoot and repair facility equipment (boilers, air compressors, pumps)
• Perform preventative maintenance across facility equipment
• Conduct boiler water chemistry testing
• Interpret and work from electrical schematics
• Maintain facility landscaping
• Identify deficiencies and recommend improvements
• Support all facility safety practices and protocols
• Perform additional duties as assigned
• Must be able to work any shift
• US Citizenship required; DBIDS eligibility required
Required Qualifications:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Capable of handling varied tasks throughout the day
• Must be courteous and professional with coworkers, military, government personnel, and the public
• Ability to lift over 40 lbs and move throughout the yard frequently
• Comfortable working around industrial machinery, fumes, irritants, toxic chemicals, and electrical hazards
• Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and access shipboard environments
• Ability to work in environments with rapid microclimate changes
Schedule & Compensation:
• Pay Range: $25.33 – $31.67/hour
• Location: San Diego, CA
• Shift: Must be available for any shift
• US Citizenship required
