Facilities Maintenance Mechanic

Embark on a career where your knack for problem-solving and your passion for perfection meet! Westminster Village is seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our Facilities and Property team!

The primary focus of this position will be heating pump maintenance, cooling, refrigeration, and repairing/maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment. You will perform basic repair of the boiler, refrigeration, motors, pumps, plumbing, etc. in addition to managing routine maintenance and work orders. Experience with residential apartment unit turnover, fixture replacements, and painting, is preferred. Must have experience in preventive maintenance in HVAC, generator, kitchen equipment, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.

We are looking for someone with an eye for detail, but also a caring and compassionate person to help keep our residents' apartments, and our facility in the best condition possible.

This is a full-time, 3rd shift (11pm-7:30am), union-eligible position, including every other weekend, and some holidays with a pay range of $24.36 to $26.36 an hour. Job Duties:

• Thorough understanding and ability to repair heat pumps. 
• Repair kitchen equipment. 
• Build projects such as shelving, walls, basic cabinetry and other similar projects. 
• Minor and major plumbing repairs. 
• Conduct electrical repairs, running conduit and new wiring. 
• Pump and motor repair and replacement as required. 
• Repair and replacement of TV cable and phone lines. 
• Do snow removal, mowing and other outdoor projects as needed. 
• Familiarize oneself with location and use of firefighting equipment, alarms and disaster procedures. 
• Attend educational meetings planned for this position. 
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school graduate or GED. Must hold current HVAC certification or being willing to obtain within the first six months of employment. Experience in general maintenance. Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall repair and basics of HVAC. Ability to understand technical language and manuals used to install and repair machinery and equipment.
