Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance checks and services on boilers, condensate pumps, humidifiers, heat exchangers, air dryers, compressed air systems, hot/chilled/process/potable water skids, water softeners, and related utilities.
- Interpret and use operator equipment manuals for troubleshooting and repairs.
- Safely coordinate and communicate equipment shutdowns for maintenance.
- Service and repair various systems, including replacing/rebuilding pumps, steam traps, backflow stations, check valves, and plumbing fixtures.
- Repair leaks, clear clogs, and install new eyewash, sink, and toilet stations as needed.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair steam traps, control valves, solenoids, chemical injection systems, safety showers, eyewash stations, and other related systems.
- Collaborate with other maintenance trades to return failed equipment to service promptly.
- Operate company vehicles for off-site parts or equipment pick-up/delivery as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Virginia state driver’s license.
- Strong understanding of plumbing systems and applicable state codes.
- Ability to read and follow SOPs, manuals, schematics, blueprints, and safety procedures.
- Preferred: Certified pipe fitter or licensed plumber.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks that involve climbing, stooping, kneeling, and reaching.
