Key Responsibilities
- Perform periodic testing and preventive maintenance on electrical components of safety systems, working individually or in teams.
- Read and interpret operator equipment manuals, schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
- Install and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and components of industrial machinery, following the National Electrical Code (NEC) and safe electrical practices.
- Work with systems such as variable speed drives, motor control centers, HVAC controls, process controls, building automation systems, power distribution panels, transformers, and service equipment.
- Use test equipment including ohm meters, meggers, amp meters, and voltage meters.
- Inspect and test fire protection systems according to NFPA requirements and local codes.
- Diagnose malfunctions in equipment and replace damaged wiring or components.
- Collaborate with other trades to restore failed equipment to service.
- Drive company vehicles to pick up or deliver parts as needed.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Virginia State Journeyman’s card preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in maintenance electrical work.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Willingness to work as needed, including occasional on-call assignments.
- Basic computer skills; familiarity with BAS operating systems.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
