Facilities Maintenance Technician

In this role, you will manage and perform maintenance on the school campus buildings, responding to repair requests, generating work orders, and ensuring accurate record keeping in the maintenance system. You will implement the regularly scheduled maintenance plan for all mechanical systems and equipment; conduct fire, safety, repair, and security inspections; provide general painting, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry support; assist with ground and lawn maintenance; and provide timely and efficient set up and take down for special programs. This is a full-time, in-office position offering a generous salary, comprehensive benefits and tuition remission, and is located in Jacksonville, FL.

Requirements

Must Haves

• Demonstrated hands-on general maintenance experience with knowledge of maintenance basics, tools, and best practices; ability to use to judgment to solve a variety of issues
  


• Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, and electrical functions
  


• Proficiency with basic computer and mobile phone applications
  


• Excellent organizational and time management skills
  


• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
  


• High school diploma
  


• Valid FL driver’s license
  


• Ability to perform the below physical requirements
  




• Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 lbs. frequently
  


• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. floor to ceiling frequently
  


• Ability to hold 25 lbs. frequently
  


• Ability to carry up to 25 lbs. up and down stairs frequently
  

Nice-To-Haves

• Associate’s degree
  


• Plumbing, electrical, or HVAC certifications
