Job Description - Facilities Maintenance - Temporary Assignment

Description

Location: Lewisville Motor Company

5600 Country Club Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27104

Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm 

Position Overview

The facilities maintenance position is designed to provide valuable support and assistance across various hands-on projects within the organization. These projects may involve tackling unique challenges, process improvements, or short-term initiatives to optimize operations and achieve organizational goals. By taking on diverse tasks and utilizing specific skills, the individuals in this role play a vital role in facilitating the overall success and growth of the company.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

  1. Construction and Maintenance Projects
  • Assist the Site Manager or Operations Capex Projects Manager in executing site improvements through construction, racking, welding, or other similar tasks.
  • Participate in various projects aimed at enhancing the facility’s infrastructure and functionality. 

2. Collaboration and Coordination

  • Work closely with the Site Manager, Operations Capex Project Manager, and other departments to remove obstacles and to facilitate smooth pathways for project execution.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration to ensure smooth pathways for project implementation.

3. Problem Solving and Innovation

  • Collaborate with the project manager or site manager to analyze complex issues and challenges related to maintenance projects. 
  • Contribute to the development of innovative strategies and solutions to overcome obstacles and achieve project goals.

4. Quality Assurance

  • Assist the project manager or site manager in maintaining high-quality standards for project deliverables.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities align with the organization’s policies and guidelines.

5. Safety

  • Adhere to safety standards and protocols during all maintenance and repair activities. 
  • Report any incidents promptly to management.

6. Grounds keeping

  • Maintain outdoor areas, including landscaping, parking lots, and sidewalks, as determined by site.
  • Remove snow and manage ice during inclement weather. 

7. Perform Other Duties as Assigned

  • Maintain and repair facility equipment and machinery as determined by site.
  • Conduct maintenance tasks such as repairing plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC systems.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in performing various tasks related to equipment, vehicles, and building maintenance.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors, contributing to the overall efficiency of the operation.

Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience in facility maintenance repair.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to diagnose and address maintenance issues effectively.
  • Strong capability to work independently, completing tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders, conveying technical information clearly.
  • Familiarity with various automotive tools and repair techniques.
  • Ability to understand and follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Willingness to adapt work hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as necessary.

  • Must be able to ambulate throughout the worksite during the workday.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, stairs ramps, and the like.
  • Ability to use both hands regularly with enough dexterity to perform job duties.
  • May work indoors or occasionally outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Occasionally lift, move, and carry objects and materials up to 50 lbs with or without assistance.
  • Expected work hours are based on role and location.
  • Ability to work occasional overtime as needed as determined by the employee’s supervisor.
