Position Summary:
The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and maintenance of all facilities within the organization. This includes managing building systems, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations, coordinating maintenance activities, managing vendor relationships, and optimizing the functionality and efficiency of all facilities.
Key Responsibilities & Role Highlights:
Building Management - Manage the operation and maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems to ensure they are functional and safe.
Vendor Management - Select, negotiate, and manage relationships with external contractors and service providers.
Health and Safety Compliance - Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding health, safety, and environmental standards.
Space Management - Oversee space planning and organization to optimize the use of available facilities.
Budgeting and Cost Control - Develop and manage the facilities management budget, ensuring cost-effective management of operations.
Sustainability and Efficiency - Implement energy-saving initiatives and sustainability programs to reduce the environmental impact of the facility.
Staff Supervision and Team Management - Supervise a team of maintenance, custodial, and security personnel.
Communication and Reporting - Act as a liaison between the organization and external vendors, contractors, and local authorities.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent experience (preferred).
Proven experience (typically 3-5 years) in facilities management or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and health & safety regulations.
Budgeting and cost management experience.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and solve problems effectively.
Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in facilities management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Flexible working on call at times as needed to meet department requirements.
