Facilities Manager

Position Summary
The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency of our packing house facility. This role ensures all equipment, infrastructure, and systems support production goals while maintaining compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Facility Operations & Maintenance

• Oversee daily operations of the packing house, including utilities, building systems, and grounds


• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs


• Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate timely repairs


• Manage third-party vendors and service providers

Equipment & Infrastructure

• Ensure optimal performance of packing, cooling, and storage equipment


• Monitor refrigeration, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems


• Lead facility upgrades, expansions, and improvement projects

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDA, USDA, GMP, and HACCP standards


• Conduct regular inspections and maintain a safe work environment


• Lead safety training and incident investigations

Budget & Cost Control

• Manage maintenance and facility budgets


• Track expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities

Team Leadership

• Supervise maintenance staff and contractors


• Assign and prioritize work orders


• Train, coach, and evaluate team performance

Inventory & Supplies

• Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies


• Ensure availability of critical spare parts

Qualifications

Required:

• 5+ years of facilities management experience


• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems


• Experience with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS


• Understanding of food safety and regulatory compliance

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Facilities Management, or related field


• Experience in produce packing or cold storage environments


• OSHA certification or similar
