Felix Construction is looking for a hands-on Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, safety, organization, and operational readiness of our buildings, shops, yard, and office spaces.
This is a highly visible role responsible for ensuring our mechanics, fabrication teams, field crews, and office staff have a safe, clean, and efficient work environment every day.
What You'll Do
As the Facilities Manager, you'll take ownership of our facilities and grounds, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and resolving issues before they impact operations.
Responsibilities Include:
- Manage the daily upkeep of all company facilities, including:
- Mechanics shop
- Warehouse
- Panel shop
- Fabrication areas
- Equipment yard
- Administrative offices
- Maintain and troubleshoot building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, overhead doors, cranes/hoists, security systems, and access controls
- Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs
- Respond quickly to maintenance requests and facility emergencies
- Perform light hands-on maintenance such as painting, patching, hardware installation, and basic repairs
- Coordinate facility vendors and contractors including janitorial, landscaping, fire protection, security, and trade partners
- Manage service contracts, bids, invoices, and work orders
- Maintain clean, organized workspaces using 5S principles
- Support facility layout improvements, storage optimization, and workplace safety initiatives
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, OSHA requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, SDS requirements, and PPE standards
- Document completed work with photos, notes, and records
Who You Are
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of facilities, maintenance, building operations, or similar experience
- Experience managing vendors, contractors, and service providers
- Familiarity with CMMS or work order management systems
- Ability to read drawings, measurements, and use a tape measure and level
- Experience with painting, patching, hardware installation, and hand/power tools
- OSHA-30 Certification
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Basic Microsoft Outlook and Excel skills
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Facilities Management, Technical Field, or related area
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Experience supporting industrial, construction, manufacturing, or warehouse environments
