Facilities Specialist

The Facilities Specialist is responsible for maintaining and managing building and grounds maintenance for 9 credit union properties across Erie County including but not limited to repair of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, masonry, and HVAC. Coordinate and/or perform preventive maintenance, purchase supplies, perform weekly courier route, place/retrieve boxes in storage, and perform special projects.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Complete routine inspections of buildings and equipment consistently and implement corrective measures as needed and to ensure compliance.


• Perform plumbing repairs such as unclogging garbage disposals, drains, repairs of faucets and toilets. Contact and coordinate with outside master plumber if necessary.


• Perform electrical repairs and other tasks including changing overhead light fixtures and ballasts, diagnosing minor electrical problems, breaker replacement and wiring, and contacting an outside firm when issues arise involving main panels.


• Perform carpentry work as assigned, including building of walls.


• Perform finishing work including painting of walls, repair of drywall, and ceilings.
  


• Coordinate with vendors to take care of the sealing and striping of credit union parking lots as necessary.


• During inclement weather, ensure that all credit union locations are plowed and salted, and walkways are safe for both member and employee access to the buildings. Coordinate with vendors to complete these tasks.


• Perform flooring repair and replacement including carpet tile, vinyl composition tile (VCT), underlayment, ceramic tile (CT), and grouting.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to safely perform physical tasks including frequent heavy lifting, prolonged standing and walking, and working around mechanical equipment and tools. 

Work Environment:

Must be available to address emergencies outside standard working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
