Key Responsibilities\n\nPerforms routine and complex maintenance and installation activities without close supervision; working from verbal and/ or written instructions, blueprints and sketches. \n\nPerforms very complex maintenance activities under the general supervision of a Journey Facilities Specialist or supervisor\n\nOperates common shop room tools, such as table saw, senstive drill press,and others. Maintains assigned work area and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe condition.\n\nMaintains security alarms, gas detection alarms and other systems with low voltage wiring.\n\nMaintains logs, records, preventative maintenance schedules and other documents under some supervision.\n\nInstalls, maintains and repairs Company property, exercising complete knowledge of area of expertise. Makes periodic inspections of plant equipment to prevent functional breakdowns.\n\nPrepares verbal and/ or written instructions, sketches, etc.., for other maintenance employees to install or modify plan equipment. Recommends perventative maintenance requirements.\n\nOversees contractor-supplied maintenance services, including janitorial, landscape, HVAC servicing and rubbish removal.\n\nOther Requirements: This is a physically demanding position that often requires standing for extended periods of time, walking, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, the ability to distinguish between colors, the ability to work in an environment with noise that may be difficult for some individuals with sensitivity to noise, and the use of hand and power tools.\n\nThis position requires the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to welding helmets, hand shields, goggles, respirators, fire/flame resistant clothing and aprons, and gloves.
