Position Summary
Reporting to the Facilities Supervisor, the Facilities Technician is responsible for conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment, performing preventative maintenance, handling basic repairs and helping ensure that production downtime remain at a minimum due to equipment repairs. The Facilities Technician is also expected to diagnose mechanical issues and HVAC issues, and provide support in correcting them. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, possess proven maintenance experience and have a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, while working independently and as part of a team
How You’ll Make an Impact
Learn the mechanical principles of Praxis products, manufacturing techniques and equipment and work to become a technical expert/resource to the production team
Support and work directly with the technicians in the department on all facilities and maintenance related issues
Execute preventative maintenance schedules for building systems (HVAC, lighting, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, etc.) and equipment
Monitor and respond to facility-related work orders and prioritize repairs or upgrades to minimize production downtime
Assist in facility inspections, safety checks, and regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
Adherence to facility budgets, including maintenance supplies, utilities, and contracted services
Coordinate with production and engineering teams to support equipment installations, relocations, or facility modifications.
Assist in maintaining documentation of maintenance activities, vendor contracts, service agreements, and compliance reports within CMMS
Assist in planning and executing facility improvement projects, renovations, or expansions
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
Execute basic cleaning/maintenance of machines and facility
Maintain Spare Parts inventory
Operate safely, compliantly and within the Praxis Quality Management System (QMS), including adherence to Quality Assurance Procedures
Timely and accurately complete all required record keeping and store in accordance with the QMS
Regularly maintain the production environment and escalate any issues for resolution
Ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety across the buildings, including production areas and maintenance areas/storage areas
Provide off hours support from regular shift hours as needed to ensure equipment repairs, furnace concerns or any other critical action is addressed in a timely manner (This role and department has the expectation of off shift hours due to the nature of the work)
What You Must Bring to This Role
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience – required
Ability to work production shift schedule and off -hours as needed to ensure production goals are met
Machine trade or technical school certification – desired
Experience working on equipment and with tools
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret documents including: maintenance instructions, procedure and manuals
Demonstrated success working with technical/mechanical devices
Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues
Experience in production operations, safety and security protocols
A history of excellence in communication and active listening
Proven success working independently and in a team environment
Demonstrated comfort with basic math skills including: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and rounding
Demonstrated comfort with both verbal and written communication
Proven ability to build personal and team-based relationships with all levels of associates
Comfort with computer applications and data entry
Proven ability to calmly transition between multiple and changing priorities
Demonstrated success working in a manufacturing environment
Forklift Certified
Working Conditions & Physical Efforts
Work is performed in a Production environment
May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand or sit for a prolonged period of time
Visual functions being those of near vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with leadership & clients
Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or operate equipment
