Facilities Technician

SUMMARY

Under limited Supervision, perform a wide variety of duties to install, maintain, and improve facility and associated systems. Responsibilities may include repairs to facility electrical, compressed air, plumbing, and HVAC systems. In addition, maintain building infrastructure including roofs, walls, doors, floors along with grounds maintenance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Install electrical conduit and compressed air lines
• Install I.T. network cables to equipment
• Install and Repair external & internal lights
• Install and Repair water/sewage plumbing to include fixtures
• Clean, repair, and install ductwork
• Perform minor carpentry repairs
• Perform cubicle installs and assemble furniture
• Repair and maintain doors and locks
• Clean and mount security cameras
• Clean and restore building infrastructure including roofs, walls, floors
• Perform grounds maintenance such as setting up timers and sprinkler system repairs
• Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks
• Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to facility and associated operating systems
• Follow all safety rules and OSHA compliance
• Must be a team player as measured by his/her peers
• Performs other related duties assigned

REQUIRED 

• High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience as Facilities mechanic or equivalent
• Must be able to work independently with minimal guidance
• Must be able to use scissor lifts and forklifts as necessary
• Demonstrated effective verbal, written, and communication skills
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to wear required Personal Protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time

• Strong initiative with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Detailed oriented with strong organizational and time management skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Sitting/Standing/Walking

• Approximately 25% is spent seated at a desk, working on the telephone or at a computer terminal
• Approximately 75% is spent bending, squatting, standing, or moving about the work area
• Frequently lifts, carries, or moves objects weighing up to 25 lbs. and occasionally 50 lbs.
• Must have ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
• Must have ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach within hands and arm’s length, stoop, kneel, and crouch
• Must have ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to wear required Personal Protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time 
• Must show proficiency in the set-up and operation of all necessary equipment 

Speaking/Hearing

• Ability to speak read and write English fluently
• Clear diction, correct grammar and acute haring are necessary for effective communication with clients, vendors, management, and other employees

Vision

• Corrected vision close to 20/20 is necessary to effectively use computer screens, read reports and responding to correspondence and emails 

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work
