Facility Driver

Job Summary:

The Facility Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of clients to and from the drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility, medical appointments, court appearances, and other approved locations. The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and compassion when interacting with individuals in recovery, ensuring their comfort and safety during transit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely transport clients to and from the facility, medical appointments, meetings, and other required destinations.


• Ensure timely pickups and drop-offs in accordance with daily transportation schedules.


• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and maintenance of facility vehicles; report any mechanical issues promptly.


• Monitor client behavior during transit, addressing concerns with sensitivity and according to facility protocols.


• Assist clients with entering and exiting vehicles as needed.


• Maintain accurate transportation logs and incident reports.


• Follow all traffic laws and facility transportation policies.


• Uphold client confidentiality and maintain professional boundaries at all times.


• Communicate effectively with facility staff regarding client needs, schedule changes, or incidents during transportation.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent.


• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL preferred but not required).


• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).


• Previous experience in a behavioral health or recovery environment preferred.


• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.


• Ability to remain calm and respectful in potentially stressful situations.


• Understanding of and commitment to confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.

Working Conditions:

• Work may involve exposure to unpredictable client behaviors.


• Requires the ability to sit for extended periods and assist clients with mobility limitations.


• May involve driving in varying weather conditions and during evenings or weekends as needed.
