More Than a Maintenance Role—Be Part of a Community
At The Terrace, you’re not just your job title. You’re a vital part of a close-knit team that sees and values every person who walks through our doors—including you. Your role goes beyond the tools and tasks; here, you'll build relationships. Your work contributes directly to the comfort and quality of life of our residents. As part of our team, you’ll help create and maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming space that truly feels like home.
A Little More About Us:
The Terrace is a 115-bed Skilled Nursing Facility with a strong focus on long-term care and late stage memory care.
Our building has character—it was built in 1965—but most of our maintenance needs involve routine preventive work and manageable repairs.
You’ll be joining a warm, dependable team that supports one another and steps in to help when needed.
What You’ll Do: If you're the kind of person who enjoys rolling up your sleeves and keeping things running smoothly, this is the job for you.
As our Facilities Maintenance Manager, you’ll be responsible for the overall upkeep and safety of our building, grounds, and equipment. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who loves solving problems, staying ahead of wear and tear, and taking pride in a job well done.
You'll be the go-to person for everything from minor plumbing and electrical work to HVAC maintenance, preventive inspections, and equipment repairs. We do most of our repairs in-house, so your skills will be put to use daily without relying heavily on outside contractors.
This is a steady, proactive role—not just reacting to emergencies but helping prevent them. You’ll keep things working, keep people safe, and make a visible impact every day.
Typical Daily Tasks Include:
Performing routine maintenance on building systems
Troubleshooting and repairing electrical, plumbing, and HVAC issues
Maintaining records of service and repair work
Conducting inspections and identifying needed repairs
Ensuring compliance with IDPH, Life Safety, and internal safety standards
Responding promptly to maintenance requests from staff and leadership
What’s in It for You:
A team-oriented culture where your work is appreciated
Steady hours with consistent tasks and projects
An employee recognition program that celebrates your efforts
Annual merit increases, based on performance
A robust benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and retirement savings options
