About the Position:

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Facility General Maintenance Person to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the proper functioning and appearance of our facilities. This role requires a proactive approach to maintenance, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and groundskeeping.


• Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and address maintenance needs and safety hazards.


• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and ensure timely completion of tasks.


• Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, and order materials as needed.


• Assist with setup and teardown for events, including moving furniture and equipment.


• Assembling manufacturing machines/lines, learning how they work, performing preventative maintenance and making necessary repairs.


• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.


• Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance tasks.


• Document maintenance activities and report on the status of repairs and projects.


• Participate in emergency response efforts as needed, including snow removal and facility repairs.


• Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment as required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in a relevant field is a plus. 


• Proven experience in facility maintenance or a related field.


• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.


• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.


• Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform manual labor.


• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with building maintenance software or work order systems.


• Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to facility maintenance.


• Familiarity with hand and power tools.
