Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 5:00 am - 1:30 pm
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Janitor/Custodian to join our team at our manufacturing facility. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of common areas and bathrooms, creating a safe and pleasant work environment for our employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in common areas, break rooms, and bathrooms.
- Empty and clean trash receptacles regularly.
- Dust and clean surfaces, including desks, chairs, and other furniture.
- Perform spot cleaning and maintain the cleanliness of windows and mirrors.
- Refill soap and paper towel dispensers as needed.
- Clean and sanitize bathroom fixtures, including toilets, sinks, and urinals.
- Restock toilet paper, paper towels, and soap as required.
- Monitor and report any plumbing or maintenance issues.
- Ensure all cleaning activities are conducted in accordance with safety protocols and guidelines.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.
- Properly dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials in designated containers.
- Follow waste disposal regulations and guidelines.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and inform the supervisor when supplies need replenishing.
- Assist in emergency clean-up situations as necessary.
- Collaborate with other facility staff and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
- Assist with occasional special projects as requested by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work preferred.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift, push, and carry cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Willingness to follow safety guidelines and wear PPE as required.
- Flexibility to work the designated shift and occasional overtime as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
