Facility Nurse – Center-Based Day Treatment Program (PreK–12th Grade)
Location: Arvada, CO
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
About Us
Evoke Behavioral Health provides specialized educational and therapeutic services to children and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and co-occurring diagnoses. In 2025, we opened our newly renovated, state-of-the-art facility in Arvada, CO, featuring two outdoor playgrounds, a full gym, and an advanced sensory room—all designed to support the well-being of our students and staff.
As we expand our Day Treatment services to include students from Pre-K through 12th grade, we are excited to introduce a new School Nurse position. This is an excellent opportunity to join a mission-driven team and play a vital role in supporting the health, safety, and success of our growing student population.
Position Overview
The School Nurse will oversee the medical needs of students, ensure compliance with applicable health regulations, and collaborate with families, providers, and team members to provide high-quality, individualized care. This is a center-based position with the opportunity to help shape the role and contribute meaningfully to the development of a comprehensive student health program.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily health services to students, including first aid, medication administration, and monitoring of chronic health conditions
- Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans (IHCPs) in coordination with families and healthcare providers
- Maintain accurate and confidential student health records
- Ensure compliance with all applicable CDHS, CDPHE, and facility health and safety requirements
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and administrative staff to support student needs
- Serve as liaison between Evoke and external medical professionals (e.g., pediatricians, psychiatrists)
- Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate emergency care when needed
- Educate students and staff on health topics such as hygiene, nutrition, and wellness
- Assist in the development and refinement of health-related policies and procedures
- Contribute to a safe and sanitary school environment
- Participate in team meetings and support staff training as appropriate
- Other relevant duties as assigned by your supervisor
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Colorado
- Associate degree or higher in Nursing
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Experience administering medications and managing chronic medical conditions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to pass a state and federal background check
- Current TB and Occupational Physical
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with children in school, pediatric, or behavioral health settings
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and ASD
- Familiarity with CDHS/CDPHE regulations and school health compliance
- Staff training experience
