DCI Donor Services (DCIDS) is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic team member to join us to save lives!! Our mission at DCIDS is to save lives through organ and tissue donation and we want professionals on our team that will embrace this important work!! We are currently searching for a high caliber Facilities Operations Coordinator to oversee inventory and ordering of necessary ocular, tissue and organ recovery supplies to ensure operations can run smoothly.

DCI Donor Services operates three organ procurement/tissue recovery organizations: New Mexico Donor Services, Sierra Donor Services, and Tennessee Donor Services. We also maximize the gift of life through the DCI Donor Services Tissue Bank and Tennessee Donor Services Eye Bank.

Key responsibilities this position will perform include:

  1. Coordinates the overall cleaning, decontamination, assembly, processing and dispensing of recovery instruments and equipment needed for daily operations.
  2. Prioritizes and plans work activities and uses time efficiently.
  3. Must be highly motivated and able to work independently demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness, identifies improvements and promotes quality, applies feedback to improve performance, and monitors work to ensure quality.
  4. Controls and performs duties to ensure repairs and maintenance of ocular, tissue, and organ recovery facility equipment, grounds storage and workspaces.
  5. Schedule may require 7 days a week coverage.
  6. Responsible for performing a quality assurance inspection and registering all incoming orders to meets acceptable parameters prior to distributing for use.
  7. Identifying any missing, lost, or damaged supply and notifying appropriate personnel.
  8. Maintains logs of all items as per established protocols. Manage all supply orders per established par levels and protocols. Trouble shoots with appropriate department managers in the event of any shipping issues, backordered and/or discontinued item(s).
  9. Responsible for all aspects of submitting, issuing, approving, and creating receipts in WorkDay.
  10. Ensures all purchasing is submitted accurately and timely. Partners with Accounting and/or Purchasing Department as needed.
  11. Maintains stockroom areas through organizing, cleaning, and performing par level assessments on a regular basis. Analyzes supply inventory and provides feedback to management if adjustments are needed.
  12. Keeps files of all orders processed and received by maintaining packing slips and submitting to appropriate departments as needed.
  13. Maintains inventory of equipment, instrumentation, and supplies for the organ, ocular, and tissue departments per the Master List and established policy and procedures.
  14. Coordinates with vendors for services and/or repairs needed for facility and/or equipment. Performs (if appropriate) and completes all relevant documentation for cleaning, equipment preventative maintenance, and environmental monitoring as per established policy and procedure to comply with regulations, standards, and DCIDS policy and procedures.
  15. Maintains company fleet vehicles.
  16. Coordinates the delivery and retrieval of recovery instruments and equipment for sterilization. Ensures that inventory controls including FIFO principles are maintained.
  17. Responsible for the preparation and packaging of recovery equipment and kits for the recovery staff to use during cases.
  18. Responsible for control of all parts of the sterilization process including: a. Decontamination; b. Prep, pack, sterilize; and c. Sterile storage including remediation of equipment failures and hazards.
  19. Operate and maintain AMSCO washer/disinfector and Steris autoclave, keeping records of loads completed, items in loads, and maintenance procedures performed.
  20. Responsible for responding and closing out any alarms within temperature monitoring system and notify appropriate management of any critical events.
  21. Coordinates disposal of biohazard waste. Complies with safety regulations and maintains accurate records of such disposal.
  22. Responsible for receipt and release of tissue donors as established per protocols.
  23. Prepare and ship donor specimen(s) and/or tissue(s) to affiliated tissue processor and/or contracted infectious disease laboratory. Coordinate with courier(s) as needed for timely pick up.
  24. Responsible for using the appropriate quality management system including but not limited to nonconformance, deviation, CAPA reporting of events associated with job responsibilities.
  25. Acts as a role model for the DCIDS and the DCIDS Quality Departments by supporting, reinforcing, and exhibiting behaviors consistent with the DCIDS core values; selfless, hardworking, passionate, and dependable.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Works in various positions, including but not limited to, stooping, bending, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time.
  • Lifts, pulls and pushes materials and Facility Operations Coordinator 3 equipment.
  • Communicates verbally and in writing.
  • Will bend, stoop, lift and move up to 75 lbs. consistently with heavier weight necessary at times.
  • Must be able to reach overhead.
  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent required. AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
  • One year quality assurance or related required.
  • Valid driver license with ability to pass MVR underwriting requirements.
  • Working knowledge of computers and basic data entry skills required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
