Caterpillar’s Power & Energy Procurement organization plays a critical role in supporting all divisions within Power & Energy. Our work is geared towards our pistons of Predictable Supply Excellence, Optimized Total Cost of Ownership, Supplier Relationship Management and Lifecycle Sourcing Strategy. We continue to develop suppliers who competitively deliver operational excellence, enabling our customers to build a better world.  With a strong focus on data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency, P&E Procurement leverages advanced tools and processes to connect the physical and digital supply chain, enabling business units to deliver high-performance solutions that meet evolving customers and business needs.

Job Summary
As the Facility Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for leading and governing Power and Energy’s global supplier capacity planning. Including, monthly S&OP demand planning, supplier risk identification and implementing mitigation plans in collaboration with component product and purchasing organizations.


What You Will Do:
• Managing a global team that is responsible for operating and monitoring the supply network procurement functions to meet the defined response time, cost, quality, and lean targets enabling optimal and efficient facility operations.
• Ensuring the supplier network is capable of meeting the specific facilities’ Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, Management (QCLDM) requirements.
• Collaborating with business partners and suppliers, and resolving facility specific supplier issues.
 

What You Will Have:
Process Management: Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes.
Level Extensive Experience:
• Helps others learn the tools and techniques for process value analysis.
• Carries out process evaluation, diagnosis, and optimization.
• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of a major process flow, its components and issues.
• Synchronizes the efforts of, and resource requirements for, several teams within a process.
• Makes the business case for new processes, including their cost-benefit ratios.
• Possesses knowledge of tools and techniques for designing and implementing new processes.

Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
Level Extensive Experience:
• Communicates to clients regarding expectations of all parties.
• Participates in negotiating the terms of the business relationship.
• Conducts periodic reviews of work effort, progress, issues, and successes.
• Maintains productive, long-term relationships with clients or vendors.
• Creates opportunities to educate support teams on client priorities.
• Empowers others to establish collaborative, healthy relationships.

Supplier Management - MFG: Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice.
Level Extensive Experience:
• Facilitates supplier partnering arrangements that share risk and reward.
• Monitors supplier performance; works to resolve discrepancies between performance and agreements.
• Develops quality standards and controls for suppliers.
• Builds and maintains partnerships with multiple and/or large suppliers.
• Evaluates issues and terminates supplier relationships as appropriate; works with legal departments.
• Ensures the fulfillment of report and record-keeping requirements.

Purchasing Tasks and Activities: Knowledge of policies, regulations and processes of purchasing; ability to use practices and procedures for procurement of materials, components, equipment and services.
Level Extensive Experience:
• Works with the implementation of complex purchasing programs and tasks.
• Advises on the appropriate solutions to complex purchasing activity problems.
• Monitors the effectiveness of procurement policies and strategies in high cost purchases.
• Improves procurement processes to maximize products or services efficiency and effectiveness.
• Teaches others how to use advanced technologies and tools for purchasing activities.
• Evaluates issues and considerations for purchasing various goods and services.

Summary Pay Range:

$147,760.00 - $221,640.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.

This position requires working onsite five days a week.
