Facility Senior Designer

Position Summary: 
North South Consulting Group is looking for a creative and credentialed Senior Designer to support the interior design, Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E) planning, and space layout efforts for the VA’s new Elizabethtown Clinic. This position plays a critical role in developing patient-centered, efficient, and compliant healthcare environments in line with VA design directives and federal accessibility standards. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Develop comprehensive FF&E layouts, space plans, and 3D design renditions in coordination with VA Interior Designers 

• Prepare detailed cut sheets and artwork placement plans 

• Participate in user group meetings and ensure designs align with VA standards and project specifications 

• Validate and finalize room content lists (RCLs) and equipment placements 

• Coordinate design submittals and artwork installation per activation milestones 

• Assist in the development of artwork and signage packages with attention to aesthetics, accessibility, and security standards 

Required Qualifications: 

• U.S. Citizenship (Required) 

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in healthcare facility design 

• Active National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) Certification or American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers (AAHID) certification  

• Demonstrated expertise in FF&E, space planning, signage, and healthcare operational flow 

• Experience translating design requirements into installation-ready documents 

• Proficiency with Revit and 3D mockup software 

• Must be able to obtain a favorable background investigation suitable for VA facility access 

Desired Qualifications: 

• Experience with VA interior design standards and guidelines 

• Familiarity with the VA BIM Guide and SEPS JSN tracking 

• Experience in developing and presenting artwork and visual design concepts to executive stakeholders 

• Prior experience coordinating with VA’s Strategic Acquisition Center (SAC) for furniture procurement
