RIGHT NOW.\n\n##### \n\nJohn Deere is an equal opportunity employer, including disabled \u0026 veterans. \n\nPrimary Location: United States (US) - Iowa - Waterloo \nFunction: Factory Engineering (CA) \nTitle: Factory Automation Engineer (3rd Shift) - 118948 \nOnsite/Remote:Onsite Position\n\n## Your Responsibilities\n\nAs a Factory Automation Engineer for JD Engine Works located in Waterloo, IA, you will:\n\n\u2022 Provide controls engineering / factory automation support for off shift operations \n\u2022 Work as a team with maintenance and skilled trades to support down equipment to minimize lost production time \n\u2022 Update electrical prints, programming and other documentation for shop floor equipment including human-machine interfaces (HMI) and programmable logic controllers (PLC) \n\u2022 Maintain and troubleshoot SCADA, and MES systems in a production environment. \n\u2022 Assist with CI (continuous improvement) projects as time allows that are factory automation related to support safety, quality, or efficiency initiatives \n\nVISA Sponsorship is NOT available for this position \n\n## What Skills You Need\n\n * Education or experience in an Electrical Engineering discipline\n * Fundamental understanding of automation and electrical control circuits\n * Experience programming Ladder Logic in Allen Bradley PLC Controllers (1-3 years of experience)\n * Good communication and troubleshooting skills\n * Ability to take direction from other team members and work autonomously with limited direction. \n * Knowledge of electrical design and applicable safety codes (NFPA 70E, NEC), common practices, and engineering tools required.\n * Ability to work 3rd shift overnight hours\n * Willingness to work overtime as needed\n\n\n\n## What Makes You Standout\n\n * Knowledge of software/tools (Kepware, Visual Basic, Power BI, etc.)\n * Understanding network connectivity requirements for equipment, and VLAN Network Topology\n * Experience with Cognex, Fanuc or Keyence Vison Applications\n * Experience with Fanuc Robotics Applications\n * Experience maintaining or troubleshooting VFD Drive or Servo applications\n * Experience in electrical design and the use of electrical drafting software.\n * 1 or more years of experience with MES/SCADA solutions (SAP-MES, AMES, Ignition)\n * 1 or more years of experience in Structured Query Language (SQL) and Databases\n * 1 or more years of experience in a programing language ( Python, C++)\n * 1 or more years of experience with Ignition\n * 3 or more years of experience in PLC and HMI programming. \n\n\n\n## Education \n\n\u2022 4 year degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or equivalent work experience \n\nWhat You\u0027ll Get\n\nAt John Deere, you are empowered to create a career that will take you to where you want to go while working in an inclusive team environment.
