Job Description - Faculty, Aerospace Coatings & Paint

Shape the Future of Aviation—One Layer at a Time

Do you have a passion for aviation and a talent for precision? Want to use your skills to inspire the next generation of aircraft professionals—without giving up the hands-on work you love?

At WSU Tech, we believe education fuels innovation. As an Aviation Paint & Coating Instructor, you won’t just teach—you’ll lead, mentor, and influence the aviation industry from the inside out. This is your opportunity to trade the hangar for the classroom while still getting your hands dirty with state-of-the-art tools and real-world projects.

NCAT Campus | Full-Time | $58,926.40/year

What You’ll Do:

  • Teach face-to-face hands-on labs and classroom sessions on surface prep, application, and coating technologies.
  • Keep it real by incorporating industry standards, safety practices, and emerging technologies into your instruction.
  • Develop and refine curriculum that keeps students aligned with FAA, KBOR, and WSU Tech expectations.
  • Collaborate with industry pros, vendors, and advisory teams to keep programs sharp and relevant.
  • Take pride in mentoring future technicians, helping students build both skills and confidence.
  • Champion safety, maintain high-tech labs, and help students learn with the best tools available.
  • Participate in outreach events like Open Houses and Aviation Summer Camps to recruit the next class of future-ready professionals.

Why WSU Tech?

  • No two days are the same—you’ll blend technical instruction, mentorship, industry partnership, and lab-based work.
  • Stay connected to your craft—we invest in tools, tech, and YOU with paid professional development.
  • Influence aviation from the ground up—your work shapes a skilled workforce for local and global employers.
  • Academic culture, real-world impact—enjoy the stability of education without leaving your industry expertise behind.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree preferred.

Experience & Skills:

      • 3–5 years of current experience in aviation paint/coating.
      • Strong understanding of aviation assembly and surface finishing.
      • Experience training or mentoring adults a plus—but passion and people skills are even better.
      • Must meet or maintain any relevant certifications for the field.
