Full-Time Faculty, Politics Cairn University’s School of Liberal Arts and Sciences is seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time faculty position in Politics. The successful candidate will likely teach introductory-level courses, such as US government and civics, as well as core program courses in political thought and American government. Additionally, the successful candidate will mentor students and oversee internships, in part by creating and maintaining healthy collaborative relationships with local political institutions and organizations. Other responsibilities include contributing to the University community through student advising, committee service, and active engagement in student life. The candidate will also be expected to assist in curriculum development and course planning. A minimum teaching load of 24 credits per academic year is required. A master’s degree in politics, political science, or a related field is required, with a doctoral degree strongly preferred. Candidates must have teaching experience, with college-level teaching experience preferred. Politics at Cairn University Cairn’s Politics program emphasizes a biblically integrated study of political thought, theory, and practice, answering the clear need in today’s world for biblically-minded men and women of character to serve in the arena of politics and government. Grounding the students’ critical thinking in an in-depth study of the nature of human beings and humankind’s place within God’s Creation, this program’s courses, mentoring, and internship opportunities turn students into statesmen. Graduates are well-versed in the political history and theoretical frameworks of human societies in the United States and around the world, and they possess not only a personal and institutional integrity but also a deep commitment to public service.
