Job Description - Family Dentist

JOB OVERVIEW

• Job Title: Family Dentist – General Dentistry

• Job Type: Full-Time (Permanent)

• Location: Redway, CA

• Service Setting: Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)

• Coverage Type: Clinical Only

• Coverage Period: Ongoing

• Clinical Shift Schedule: 4 day work week, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM

PATIENT INFORMATION

• Patient Demographics: Underserved and low-income populations

• Patient Volume/Census: ~22 patients/day (average 18–20)

• Case Mix: General dentistry including crowns, dentures, extractions, fillings, exams, root planing, and adult prophylaxis

FACILITY INFORMATION

• No. of Beds in Department: 3-chair dental setup

• EMR System: EPIC Wisdom

• Office Equipment Available: CERAC crown machine

• Support Staff Available: RDAs for sealants/SDF

• Reason for Coverage: Full-time staff position

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

• Credentialing Timeline: Support available for obtaining insurer credentials

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Salary: $156,907 – $199,680

• Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 (12-month commitment)

• Up to $50,000/year in loan repayment through NHSC

• Relocation package and up to $5,000 in moving expense reimbursement

• 4% retirement match (fully vested Day 1)

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Licenses: Active California dental license preferred

• Certifications: DentiCal/Medicaid and Delta Dental credentials required

• Other Qualifications: Familiarity with EPIC Wisdom; credentialing support for insurers (Anthem, Guardian, UHC)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide compassionate, community-based dental care to underserved patients

• Perform general dentistry procedures including exams, restorations, extractions, and dentures

• Oversee RDAs for preventive treatments such as SDF and sealants

• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC Wisdom

• Collaborate with a supportive, team-based dental care team
