Family Engagement Specialist

Family Engagement Specialist for Head Start – Portage, WI.

· Administers and oversees parent and family engagement services for families of children from infancy through age 5, as well as with pregnant mothers.

· Designs parent and family engagement strategies to promote family well-being and children’s development.

· Develops father engagement strategies and oversees the recruitment of Head Start children. Monitors the development of family partnerships and ensures families have the resources needed to meet their goals and address their needs.

· Works with Specialists and Teachers to promote school readiness activities.

· May do home visits with families needing extra support.

· Provides support and guidance to Teachers in working with families.

· Implements Conscious Discipline Training and other research-based parenting curriculums.

· Oversees the work of a Family Service Worker.

· Requires accurate data entry and data management skills to ensure compliance with grant requirements.

· Works as part of a collaborative team with other Head Start Specialists.

· Must be able to work independently, possess good time management and organizational skills, work well with children and families, and have the ability to problem solve.

· Must have Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Family Services, Human Services, Counseling or similar degree.

· Travel within 5 counties is required.

Pay: $52,500.00 - $57,964.00 per year
