Family Engagement Specialist

Kids’ Corps, Inc. is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Family Engagement Specialist to support and empower families as lifelong educators. This role is responsible for coordinating family education events, supporting parent-child relationships, and ensuring successful transitions within early childhood programs. As a key part of our family services team, the Family Engagement Specialist also works as a Family Advocate—building positive, goal-oriented relationships with families to promote wellness, school readiness, and self-sufficiency.

 Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate parent education events and parenting curriculum (e.g., Conscious Discipline)


• Lead transition efforts to kindergarten and between program levels


• Provide support and training to staff on family engagement strategies


• Partner with families to set and track goals through the Family Partnership process


• Assist families with accessing health care, social services, and child development resources


• Encourage parent involvement in decision-making and program governance


• Collaborate with community partners to support family needs


• Support as a Family Advocate and provide enrollment assistance as needed

Qualifications

• Experience in family engagement, social services, early childhood education, or a related field (Must have 12 months of experience working in similar position with parents or families)
  


• Regular schedule adjustment and availability for frequent evening events


• Strong interpersonal and communication skills


• Knowledge of community resources and family partnership principles


• Ability to build trust with families and maintain professional boundaries


• Competent with data tracking and time management tools (e.g., Outlook, QuickBooks Time)

Preferred

• Experience with Head Start or Early Head Start programs


• Familiarity with Conscious Discipline or similar parenting curricula


• Bilingual skills (Spanish, Samoan, Hmong, Alaska Native languages, etc.)

Starting salary dependent on education and is non-negotiable: To be considered for a degree rate, your degree must be in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field. 

Family Development Credential: $23.21 per hour

Associate Degree: $24.83 per hour 

Bachelor Degree: $26.58 per hour

Graduate Degree: $28.43 per hour

There is a 10-step wage scale built into this position that occurs annually.

This is a non-exempt position. 90 day introductory period. 

We are currently offering a $300 sign-on bonus after completing the 90-day probation period.

There is a leave blackout period for this position from July 15th - September 15th of each year. During this time, no leave longer than 2 days will be approved unless there are exceptional circumstances. This is an in-person position only. Remote work not available.
