Family Engagement Specialist

Role Overview

The Family Engagement Specialist serves as the face and is the primary point of contact to The CORE for families, which operates at Clover during weekday evenings and on Saturdays. Acting as a bridge between the community and our network of onsite partners, this role is responsible for creating a warm, dignified, and trauma-informed environment where both parents and children feel instantly valued. The Family Engagement Specialist ensures that CORE operations across multiple partners are seamless for families and that every participant is greeted and treated consistently with empathy, efficiently supported through the check-in process, and seamlessly connected to the services they need.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcoming & Environment Stewardship: Greet all participants with a high level of warmth, empathy, and professionalism. Maintain a trauma-informed, people-first, and family-centered atmosphere in the waiting and intake area that honors the whole family.
• Participant Check-In & Navigation: Efficiently manage the reception area and guide participants through the initial check-in process for on-site partner organizations, ensuring a smooth and supportive transition from arrival to service delivery.
• Whole-Family Data Management: Accurately and timely capture and enter participant information into The CORE’s central tracking system, maintaining strict confidentiality while upholding data integrity to support whole-family tracking and impact metrics.
• Ecosystem & Partner Resource Navigation: Maintain an up-to-date understanding of the schedules, eligibility requirements, and multi-generational services offered by all collaborative partners within The CORE to provide accurate, holistic referrals.
• Partner Coordination & Communication: Ensure partner resources and programs on site operate smoothly and effectively as they interface with families, acting as the logistical liaison between participants and partner organization staff to manage flow, reduce wait times, respond to family needs, and ensure clear communication across multi-agency teams.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: 3+ years of proven experience working within the social services sector, human services, healthcare, or community organizations, with a demonstrated comfort level and commitment to serving children and families.
• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in a human or social services-related field OR equivalent lived experience as a family attempting to navigate resources and services.
• Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively, patiently, and empathetically with diverse populations, children, and multi-agency professional staff.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong digital literacy and proficiency in data entry, office software, shared databases, or case management systems.
• Bilingual Skills (Plus): Fluency in Spanish or another second language is highly preferred but not required.

Schedule & Logistics

• Hours: Part-time position requiring availability to work Monday-Thursday evenings and Saturdays as determined based on partner programming.
