Description

SUMMARY

 Assures the provision of quality Families First services and contract compliance through the oversight of service delivery and the day-to-day operations of the program including hiring and supervising assigned staff, and the training of staff on program procedures, agency policy and other specific contract documentation. Provides monthly performance coaching for professional development and daily support to staff. Helps to ensure worker and client safety. Provides direct services to clients as warranted to meet program needs and/or required by contract. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities associated with this job will change from time to time in accordance with the agency's programmatic and business needs. More specifically, the incumbent may be required to perform additional and/or different responsibilities from those described below.

  • Provides direction, support and training to staff.
  • Assists agency staff members through individual and group supervision in analyzing case problems and in improving their diagnostic and helping skills.
  • Receives, screens and assigns cases. Provides back-up and assistance when needed.
  • Assures compliance with contract standards and interfaces with state level trainers and program specialists.
  • Provides 24-hour a day consultation services to staff via electronic communication.
  • This position will be knowledgeable about and actively support 1) culturally competent, recovery-based practices; 2) person-centered planning as a shared decision making process with the individual, who defines his/her own life goals and is assisted in developing a unique path toward those goals; and 3) a trauma informed culture to aid individuals in their recovery process.
  • Provides effective leadership through modeling, promoting employee growth, and building morale Reviews and approves, by signature and date, all required assessments, progress reports and termination reports.
  • Interacts and regularly engages with referral sources/funders to promote referrals through regular contact via phone, email, and in person meetings.
  • Assures compliance with contract and COA standards and trains staff to adhere and have a good working knowledge of these requirements.
  • Actively Participates in the agency's program planning and development including strategic planning, committees, and budget processes.
  • Tracks and analyzes program data necessary to: report program outcomes, complete Clinical Case Reviews, meet monthly budget targets, provide annual fiscal projections, ascertain team incentives, and assist in recognizing changing community and agency needs and trends.

Supervises a Families First team of 5 social workers. 

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  •  Minimum BSW/BA in human service-related field. MSW/MA preferred.
  • Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Lived experience with behavioral health issues is desired.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Valid Michigan driver's license, insurance and driving record which complies with agency policy.
  • Trained or willingness to be trained First Aid, CPR, and AED

  • Ability to implement physical assistance/intervention as warranted.
  • Ability to regularly provide out-of-office services in unstructured, unpredictable situations.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand and sit. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance, vision and peripheral vision.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to travel to all areas within the service area. Must be able to transport clients in own vehicle; this includes adult clients and their children. Ability to drive own vehicle and maintain a valid, unrestricted driver's license and vehicle insurance that meets agency requirements is required for this role. Ability to drive during the day or evening, and in varied weather conditions, is required for this role. Home visits are often made during evening hours as required to meet family need. A small percentage of home visits may need to be made on weekends or holidays.
