Job Description - Family Intervention Specialist

We are seeking caring individuals to join our team. We work on supporting and empowering individuals and families to overcome life's challenges by providing quality services in Plymouth and the surrounding counties.


 


Requirements:


High School Diploma with a minimum of one (1) year of full-time experience in the child welfare/human services field or an Associate of Arts (AA) Degree.


 


Job Responsibilities:



  • Supervises the children/youth and their family members during scheduled visit times to ensure the safety of the children involved and that conversations are positive and appropriate.

  • Transports children/youth in and around the service area from a designated location to the place of the visit and back again.

  • Ensures the safety of the children/youth while transporting to/from, as well as during, family interactions and visits with parents.

  • Observes and assesses behaviors of all parties and guides or redirects as needed to assist in the process of constructing a successful visit.

  • Role models effective parenting skills to the parents, assisting them with interacting appropriately with the children/youth.

  • Completes collaborative documentation for each family interaction and transportation. Submits documentation within 24 hours.

  • Ensures timely schedule to maintain the safety of children/youth.

  • Responds on short notice situations occasionally to substitute for a supervised visit, to fulfill urgent requests for new visits, or to transport children from one place to the other.


 


Minimum Knowledge, Skills, & Essential Functions Requirements:



  • Applicant must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Knowledge of community resources and service providers in the service area.

  • This position is full-time and requires scheduling flexibility with the ability to work evenings and weekends, as necessary to meet contractual obligations.

  • maintain on-call availability as needed to respond to crises.
