Pay: $60,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year

Location: Morehead City, NC. This is an on-site opportunity for an attorney who enjoys collaborating with a local team and building strong relationships with clients in the community.

Note: An active North Carolina Bar license is required. We are particularly interested in experienced family law attorneys, although entry-level attorneys with strong potential and a genuine interest in family law are encouraged to apply.

Job Description

  • Manage family law matters involving divorce, custody, child support, alimony, property distribution, separation agreements, and related issues.
  • Counsel clients through sensitive and often complex personal and financial situations.
  • Develop thoughtful case strategies based on each client's circumstances, priorities, and goals.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, agreements, correspondence, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare thoroughly for hearings, negotiations, mediations, and courtroom proceedings.
  • Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties throughout each matter.
  • Negotiate resolutions while remaining prepared to advocate effectively in court when necessary.
  • Maintain organized case files, deadlines, and client communications.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to deliver responsive, high-quality legal service.

Qualifications

  • Active North Carolina Bar license required.
  • Family law experience strongly preferred.
  • Entry-level attorneys with strong academic, communication, and advocacy skills may be considered.
  • Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and client counseling abilities.
  • Ability to manage cases and deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Professional, compassionate communication style when working with clients facing sensitive circumstances.
  • Courtroom or litigation experience is a plus.

  • Required Years as Associate: 0+ years; experienced candidates preferred, but entry-level attorneys considered
  • Salary Bands (Only if attorney role): 
  • $60K to $70K entry level; 
  • $70K to $90K 1 to 3 years; 
  • $90K to $105K 4 to 6 years; 
  • $105K to $120K 7+ years.
