Job Description

  1. LIAISON SPECIALIST DUTIES: Greets visitors, patients, families, staff, and physicians with courtesy and utilizes the computer and telephone to track patient's location, status, and readiness for transfer or discharge. Facilitates visitation in the PACU recovery areas and establishes communication with the recovery units to determine the patient's readiness for visitors. Coordinphysician-family communications in conjunction with the volunteer service to ensure HIPPA and/or SJMC policies and procedures are being followed and upon notification of the completion of surgery, escorts the family to a consultation room.
  2. TEAMWORK & FISCAL ACCOUNTABILITY: Maintains a positive and professional attitude with co-workers, patients, families/significant others, medical staff, volunteers, and visitors. Supports a culture of excellence that contributes to providing quality, cost-effective services and participates in performance improvement activities.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • 2 year / Associate's Degree (Preferred)
  • Required Skills: Strong Verbal Communications Skills, Strong Written Communications Skills, Excellent Interpersonal Skills, Basic Computer Skills, Excellent Organizational Skills, Strong Customer Services Skills, Proven Analytical Skills
