CURRENT OPENING: Family Nurse Practitioner
Full-time, Exempt
Annual Compensation: $130,000-135,000/year

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, perform evaluation and treatment of patients in the outpatient setting or the street setting. Assess medical needs and compile care plans; address acute needs, chronic conditions, and preventive health maintenance. Patient assessments may include emotional, mental, and social needs. Furnish/transmit appropriate medications and treatments.
- Per the Marin County Department of Health and Human Services, Ritter Center requires all employees to receive the Influenza vaccine (unless applying for a qualified medical or religious exemption) Serve as the primary care provider for a panel of patients.
- May perform in-office procedures such as incision and drainage, arthrocentesis, nail removal, skin biopsy, pap-smears, and cryotherapy.
- Productivity requirement of a minimum of 10 patients per in-clinic day.
- Able to perform On-Call duties every other week, including weekends, after hours, and holidays (3-5 calls/week). Schedule to be determined by Clinic Manager.
- Experience with women’s health i.e. conducting pap-smears, inserting IUDs, etc.
- Awareness or knowledge of MAT (Medicated Assisted Therapy) Program and willing to participate as needed.
- Provide whole-person care for patients, practicing harm reduction approaches, considering creative and flexible solutions, and partnering with the clients to take steps forward with their health.
- Work within clinical privileges that are clearly delineated through Scope of Practice agreement (Nurse Practitioner).
- Keep accurate, concise, and thorough documentation of all patient medical history, exam and assessment findings, treatment/interventions, and education provided; complete documentation and lock progress notes in a timely manner.
- Review and electronically sign off on all laboratory results, diagnostic results, and outside consult notes in a timely manner, ensuring patient is contacted for follow-up if clinically appropriate.
- Initiate and follow through on specialist referrals and e-consults (electronic consults), communicating with specialist providers as necessary in the provision of whole-person care.
- Participate in org-wide Ritter Center, Provider-specific, and All-Staff meetings and trainings as requested.
- Provide compassionate and trauma informed care for patients who are experiencing homelessness, may suffer from mental illness, and/or lack resources to appropriately care for themselves.
- Actively participate in Quality Improvement activities at Ritter Center, including participating in peer reviews, evaluating clinical performance measures, and implementing improvements using a Plan-Do-Study-Act method.
- Assist in provision of health screenings (including TB, diabetes, and hypertension) at outreach events.
- Maintain active enrollment in Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and other payor programs as needed for clinical operations, completing credentialing paperwork in a timely manner to remain actively enrolled in these programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Per OSHA requirements, employment at Ritter Center requires compliance with being able to produce a negative TB test prior to the start of employment, as well as being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (unless applying for an exemption) per the August 5th State Public Order for Healthcare Facilities, providers and employees.
- Per the Marin County Department of Health and Human Services, Ritter Center requires all employees to receive the Influenza vaccine (unless applying for a qualified medical or religious exemption)
- License to practice in the state of California
- Knowledge or experience working in a Federal Qualified Health Center
- Experience working with vulnerable populations including women and LGBTQ community
- Valid DEA Certificate
- Demonstrated experience with Electronic Medical Records
- Provider BLS Certification (includes CPR certification) required
- Medical Spanish preferred, conversational Spanish a plus
- Good skills in organization and ability to multi-task and remain calm under stress
- Demonstrated experience working in social service setting; ability to be empathetic and compassionate with clients within a framework of appropriate boundaries
- Strong people management and communication skills
