Pawnee Mental Health is a mission-driven non-profit Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) serving 10 counties across North-Central Kansas. We provide comprehensive behavioral and physical health services to individuals and families in underserved communities, and we’re on the lookout for a dedicated, collaborative Family Nurse Practitioner ready to make a real impact.

The Role You Play as a Family Nurse Practitioner

As a Family Nurse Practitioner at Pawnee Mental Health, you’ll play an essential role in delivering integrated, patient-centered care that supports the whole person—mind and body. Working in an outpatient primary care setting, you’ll serve individuals and families across the lifespan, many of whom experience co-occurring behavioral and physical health challenges. Your work will be deeply collaborative, engaging regularly with a multidisciplinary team of mental health providers, care coordinators, and support staff. You’ll not only treat illness, but also empower clients through prevention, education, and advocacy—helping them lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.

As a Family Nurse Practitioner with Pawnee, you will:

• Deliver primary care across the lifespan, including wellness exams, acute visits, and chronic condition management
• Diagnose and treat physical and behavioral health conditions; prescribe medications and order necessary diagnostics
• Collaborate with behavioral health clinicians to create and implement integrated, person-centered treatment plans
• Educate clients and families on preventive care, disease management, and healthy lifestyle choices
• Ensure continuity of care through interdisciplinary teamwork, care coordination, and follow-up planning
• Provide equitable, culturally sensitive care and advocate for client access to supportive health resources

Required:

1. All employees will be required to submit to and pass a background check and drug screening.
2. Must be licensed in good standing to practice as an APRN in Kansas and maintain this license in good standing. 
3. Graduation from an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program.
4.  American Nurses Credentialing Center or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner is required to be obtained before start date and maintained.
5. Strong oral and written communication skills using the English language.
6. Basic personal computer skills required.  
7. The results of criminal and all other applicable background checks must meet with the approval of Pawnee Mental Health Services.
8. Must have and maintain a current DEA.
9. Must have and maintain a current BLS.

Preferred:

1.  Experience in a community mental health setting with clients of all ages is strongly preferred.
2. Experience with Microsoft Office software preferred.
