Family Nurse Practitioner FNP or Physician's Assistant (PA-C) - Immediate Start

We are seeking an experienced Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician's Assistant (PA-C) to become a part of our team! You will focus on providing high quality patient care as part of an integrative healthcare team.

Hours are flexible, generally about 20 hours per week with the opportunity to grow to a full-time position if desired.  No call, no weekends, no holidays, no nights.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and treat acute, episodic or chronic illnesses
• Prescribe all necessary medications and treatments including medication-assisted treatment (MAT)
• Perform comprehensive physical examinations of patients across the lifespan
• Develop and implement patient management policies and procedures
• Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities
• Communicate with the integrative healthcare team and outside specialist(s) regarding patient care
• Recognize significant physical examination findings and manage appropriately
• Interpret laboratory results and treat/manage appropriately
• Use the Virginia Prescription Drug Monitoring Program as required by state law
• Communicate effectively with patients and family/caregivers about assessment findings and treatment options
• Document exam findings and treatment decisions in an accurate and timely fashion

Qualifications:

• Previous experience (at least 1 year) as a Family Nurse Practitioner
• Ability to build rapport with patients and work effectively with staff/other providers
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong leadership qualities
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Ability to participate in all insurance panels including Medicaid/Medicare/Tricare
• National Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner
• Licensed as a Family Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Virginia (other states a plus)
• Ability to document patient care, order prescriptions, conduct telemedicine video appointments in the electronic medical record
