Location: East Lawn Memorial Park, Elk Grove

As a Family Service Counselor at East Lawn, you will play a crucial role in helping families make important at-need and pre-need cemetery and funeral arrangements. You will provide exceptional service, assist with coordinating interments, and manage customer inquiries, all while embodying East Lawn’s Mission Statement and Values. Key Responsibilities:

• Work directly with families to make at-need and pre-need cemetery and funeral arrangements.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including interment books, work orders, and marker orders.
• Coordinate services with funeral homes, both East Lawn and non-East Lawn facilities.
• Assist customers with inquiries, complaints, and provide personalized service.
• Ensure all paperwork is complete and compliant with applicable laws and company policies.
• Receive and securely record cremated remains, payments, and other critical documents.
• Participate in committal services and support families during the interment process.
• Provide excellent customer service and ensure a seamless and compassionate experience for families.

Qualifications:

• A compassionate, honest, and customer-focused approach to sales.
• Strong communication skills, including a courteous and professional demeanor with both clients and colleagues.
• 3-5 years of sales experience preferred (especially in a service or customer-oriented field).
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must pass the California State Life Insurance exam within six months or three attempts from the date of hire.
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; ability to complete contracts using SRS).
• Knowledge of funeral laws, mortuary pricing, and veteran benefits is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift and carry items up to 75 lbs.
