SUMMARY
The Family Support Specialist assists in building strong, supportive relationships with families by identifying needs and coordinating services and resources. This role provides direct support to families throughout the intake evaluation, service navigation process, and through in-home services needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with families, public agencies and service providers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in a social services field. Experience working with autism spectrum disorder. Prior experience as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a plus, but not mandatory.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid Alabama driver's license
Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate the needs of children and their families.
