Farm Equipment Operator

We are searching for a skilled Farm Equipment Operator who will have opportunities to be involved in all aspects of the Farm from planting, cultivating, disking, plowing and machinery maintenance.  Must be hard-working, self-motivated, ability to work independently, detail oriented, strong communication skills and eager to learn.

Job Duties

Performing inspections of tractors and attachments like planters, discs, and plows, and ensuring they are well-lubricated. Adjust, repair, and service farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions. Attach farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools

Operating tractors with GPS equipment to plant and prepare fields. Mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery. Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery

Follow planting schedules and communicate with Management to effectively achieve required field yields.

Reporting any field or crop concerns to the Farm or Packing Shed Manager.

Completing minor repairs on tractor and farm equipment.

·  Must have experience in a similar role.

·  Must have pesticide applicators license.

·  Operating tractors safely and efficiently.

·  Must be physically fit & able to lift 50lbs.

·  A valid Driver’s license.

·  The ability to identify and react appropriately to hazards.

·  Experience performing minor maintenance on tractors and other farming equipment.

·  The ability to carry out duties unsupervised, in harsh weather conditions, and during irregular hours when required.

·  The ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

·  Has the required health and safety knowledge.

·  Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch.
