POSITION SUMMARY: We are actively hiring Farsi Linguists to work with a diverse team focusing on materials of a scientific nature.  The linguist will be responsible for supporting a government agency and your office with translation, transcription, and/or interpretation services. 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Interaction with a wide variety of Government and contractor personnel in a diverse, evolving, high-profile environment.
• Translate from the foreign language into English and vice versa. 
• Travel within the Washington metropolitan area to various government and non-government facilities.
• Some overseas travel may be required. 

SECURITY CLEARANCE: TS/SCI with polygraph is required. However, candidates with any level of clearance, including those with no clearance but who are deemed eligible, may be considered. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of college preferred in Linguistics, International Affairs, or Foreign Languages.
• A minimum of five (5) years of operational experience.
• Ability to obtain an ILR level 4 on a translation assessment.
• Ability to obtain a level 5 on a Speaking/Listening/Reading test.
• Possess strong reading and writing skills in the foreign language and English.
• Must be capable of working independently and with assigned team.
• Experience with translation into English and source language required.
• Experience with translation related services required.
• Must be willing to travel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Military experience.
• Interpretation and transcription into source language.
• Strong typing skills in both languages.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Work will be performed Monday through Friday during normal business hours between 0700 and 1800.
• May be required to work overtime including some weekends and holidays.
• Travel within the Washington metropolitan area to various government and non-government facilities. 

PAY RANGE:

Pay Range: $110,000 - $200,000 a year

MultiLingual Solutions (MLS) pay range and level are general guidelines for this job. Several factors, including education, geographic location, contract labor categories, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, or market data, determine the final salary.
