FAS Coordinator

The FAS coordinator plays a crucial role in the daily upkeep of Feed Automation Systems and facilitates communication with delivery sites, feed mills, and other office personnel regarding FAS information. Responsibilities include processing FAS feed orders, monitoring animal movements, generating feed reports, managing feed budgets, and implementing feed rations. Additionally, the coordinator will utilize standard office equipment, feed manufacturing machinery, and computer automation tools.

Job Requirements

• A minimum requirement of a high school degree or equivalent


• Computer proficiency with experience utilizing Microsoft Office, including Excel, and willingness to learn additional computer programs


• Knowledge of feed manufacturing equipment operation and maintenance

• Good communication and able to collaborate with coworkers from various departments


• Planning and prioritizing of tasks to make effective use of time

Work Environment:

• Combination of office work and Feed Mill plant 


• Feed mill is loud and dusty

Physical Demands:

• Lifting of up to 60 pounds 
  


• Climbing ladders of various outdoor heights


• Operate a pallet jack with up to 2,000 pounds of material

Main Responsibilities:

• Receive feed orders from; growers, sow farms and others, determine the proper ration and drug protocol


• Process feed orders, death loss, bin inventory, feed transfers, implementation of formulation changes


• Maintain accurate feed allocation per group


• Provide support for growers, accounting, and other administrative information


• Ensure orders are processed in a timely fashion to minimize feed mill waste


• Determine if all the scheduled loads can be reasonably hauled; determine alternate loads that may be rescheduled and still meet zero feed outage


• Coordinate loads to minimize driver time waiting on feed at the feed mill


• Ensure death loss, animal sales, and animal receipts are accurate


• Monitor mill loading to ensure a balance and optimize EFI feed costs based on feed order processing


• Ensure Eichelberger Farms antivirus / phishing protocols are followed


• Support the EMI mill and toll mills with prompt communication


• Ensure that all feed manufactured is to EMI policy, bag label instruction, and FDA guideline


• Ensure that records are maintained to EMI policy


• Maintain a veterinary feed directive system, meeting FDA guidelines


• Provide proper feed delivery documentation to meet EMI policy, and FDA guidelines


• Comply with all local, state and federal laws, and regulations


• Perform all activities required to complete the daily feed mill checklist


• Complete appropriate paperwork and report

Other Responsibilities:

• Operate a forklift


• Regular and consistent attendance


• Maybe required to work some weekends


• Fill in for the FAS Administrator as required


• Other duties as assigned
