Fashion Design Assistant - Generous Compensation

We are a fashion forward apparel company located in Torrance, CA with great culture, an awesomely talented team and a super cool office with a fun and creative atmosphere. We are currently seeking an Assistant to work in our Design Department. The ideal candidate will be an extremely detail oriented, positive individual eager to learn on the team and assist in many areas. This position reports to the Head Designer.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Work collaboratively with designers, print designer, patternmaking, sewing and production.
• Communicate with other departments and overseas vendors in a clear & professional manner.
• Help with designing accessories such as badges, socks, ....
• Help print designer with color tabs and print outs
• Sketch CADs in Adobe Illustrator
• Strong Illustrator is a must
• Strong Photoshop is a plus + 
• Create body boards with all relevant silhouettes for the season to present at design meetings
• Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: AA degree in Fashion Technical Design, Technical Illustrator

Experience: Internship or 1 + years of experience in the apparel industry preferred. Must have garment construction knowledge.

Computer Skills: Must have strong Adobe Illustrator skills

Compensation: $17 - $19 per hour

Expected hours: 40 hours per week

Monday to Friday
