JOB DESCRIPTION: 

The Firepower Control Platoon (FCP) Joint Terminal Attack Controller – Instructor/Evaluator (JTAC-I/E) Subject Matter Expert (SME) provides specialized instructional, evaluation, and fires-integration support to Marine Forces Special Operations Command (MARFORSOC) in support of MARSOF fires training and operational readiness. 

This role supports the Firepower Control Platoon (FCP) by delivering JTAC instruction, simulator and live-fire training support, range operations, and programmatic assistance to ensure JTACs are trained, evaluated, and tracked in accordance with USSOCOM and MARFORSOC directives. The FCP JTAC-I/E SME plays a critical role in synchronizing fires training, safety, and qualification standards across MARSOF elements. 

This position is contingent upon contract award. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Provide JTAC instruction, training, and evaluation support to FCP and MARSOF personnel in accordance with applicable JTAC guidance and MARFORSOC requirements. 

• Support JTAC and JTAC-I/E simulator training, mission rehearsal, and exercise execution. 

• Assist with planning, scheduling, and execution of MARSOF fires training, to include POI development, curriculum review, and training delivery. 

• Support range operations, including mission duties during training events and coordination with range personnel. 

• Assist with CAS malfunction, accident, and incident response, including immediate actions and preparation of required reports. 

• Maintain JTAC and JTAC-I/E qualifications in compliance with: 

• JFS ESC AP MOU 2024-01 (JTAC Ground) 

• USSOCOM M 350-5 

• USSOCOM D 525-13 

• MARFORSOC 3500.2 series orders 

• Provide instruction to JTACs under instruction during Mission Qualification Training (MQT), Unit Level Training (ULT), and other directed training events. 

• Conduct JTAC evaluations (when qualified) of MARFORSOC and other service personnel as directed by JTAC Program leadership. 

• Perform required training to attain and maintain Range Safety Officer (RSO) qualifications and conduct RSO duties during training events. 

• Assist with range and asset scheduling when directed by JTAC Program leadership. 

• Support JTAC program management, including qualification tracking, administrative documentation, and readiness reporting. 

• Provide immediate response and substantiating documentation for any safety incident involving contractor personnel. 

• Maintain professional appearance and conduct consistent with Marine Corps civilian attire and grooming standards. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Held or exceeded a JTAC-I qualification as a uniformed service member in accordance with service JTAC guidance. 

• JTAC-I/E qualification must have occurred within the last 48 months. 

• Minimum two (2) years of experience as a SOF JTAC. 

• Demonstrated experience supporting fires integration and JTAC training in a SOF environment. 

• Ability to instruct, mentor, and evaluate JTACs in classroom, simulator, and field settings. 

• Strong working knowledge of CAS procedures, fires integration, and JTAC program requirements. 

• Ability to operate effectively in high-tempo, safety-critical training environments. 

SECURITY CLEARANCE: 

• Active SECRET clearance  on Day 1 of contract execution. 

• Ability to obtain and maintain a CAC and comply with all DoD security and OPSEC requirements. 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Prior experience supporting Firepower Control Platoon (FCP) operations or MARSOF fires training. 

• Experience supporting joint or coalition fires exercises. 

• Prior instructor or evaluator experience in a SOF training environment. 

• Familiarity with MARFORSOC JTAC program administration and qualification tracking.
