Job Description:

This job is responsible for providing leadership, technical direction and oversight to a team delivering technology solutions. Key responsibilities of the job are to provide oversight of the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex computer programs, align technical solutions to business objectives, and ensure that coding practices/quality comply with software development standards. Job expectations include conducting multiple software implementations and applying both depth and breadth in knowledge of several technical competencies.

We are looking for a highly skilled technical leader with experience in architecture, Java, and databases. This position will be working in the Marketing development teams that manage and build Tier 1 applications with hot/hot architecture. This position requires someone that has multiple years of experience working in a highly performing agile development team and has the technical maturity to take line of business requirements and direct the architectural solution. It requires collaboration and negotiation with multiple groups including other agile development teams, Marketing lines of business, architects, and Infrastructure partners.

Responsibilities:

• Designs, develops and is accountable for feature delivery
• Applies enterprise standards for solution design, coding and quality
• Ensures solution meets product acceptance criteria with minimal technical debt
• Guides the team on work breakdown and execution
• Works with the Product Owner to ensure that product backlog/requirements are healthy, with clear acceptance criteria
• Plays a team lead role (as an individual contributor) and mentors the team
• Guides team members with skills and practices (planning and estimation, peer reviews, and other engineering practices)
• Work with development team to complete code reviews and ensure clean, quality code with an eye on performance.
• Work closely with the Scrum Master and Product Owner to write and refine epics, stories, and acceptance criteria for project and base funded work ensuring timeliness of deliverables to meet project requirements.
• Acts as a liaison between development team and line of business.
• Lead and ensure inter-team communications are taking place in a timely and open manner.
• Work closely and in collaboration with the leadership team including Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Development Leads, and other Feature Leads to ensure team strategy is aligned with team/project goals.
• Coordinate release activities with the agile teams.

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in building and integrating Java REST APIs & Messaging applications, using Spring/Spring Boot
• Strong SQL skills
• Skilled in using development tools including source code control, Code quality tools, debugging, and profiling.
• Hands-on experience with application server technologies such as WebSphere, JBoss.
• Ability to coordinate and support large & complex projects including product upgrades and deployment of new capabilities and enhancements.
• Background in delivering full-life cycle projects
• Strong analytical skills to solve problems, perform research and derive solution opportunities
• Ability to lead the team and work in a global delivery model.
• Ability to work on an Agile team
• Ability to work with Application & Solution Architects, employing design patterns as best fit.
• Ability to work with MS Visio or other design tools and deliver application & component level designs to team of developers.
• Understand processes and system flows, understand business requirements, with the ability to translate those to technical requirements.
• Must be able to present to management and executives of different levels within the organization

Desired Qualifications:

• Previous Experience in Financials Services, Marketing & Insights
• Experience with Jenkins, Artifactory, Git, Bitbucket, Ansible and Ansible Tower
• Knowledge of today’s relevant technologies such as NoSQL, Docker, Kubernetes
• Knowledge of integration software such as Apache CAMEL and ESB such as Mulesoft
• Understanding of enterprise change control systems and processes
• Experience in secure programming practices
• Experience with delivering UI driven applications (JavaScript, React or Angular).
• Experience in creating and/or supplying Story level details to Product Owner

Minimum Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
