Fee for Service Mental Health Professional (Child and Adolescent Focus)

Starting Salary: $48.00 per hour

Status: 1099 contract / 30 hours per week

Locations: 

• 4301 Rising Sun Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19140 - Opened Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm or from 8:30 am to 5 pm
• 3265 N Front Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140 - Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 7 am to 6 PM and Saturday from 7:30 am to 4 PM

JOB SUMMARY

APM is seeking a qualified Mental Health Professional to serve as a key member of the Behavioral Health Treatment Team, with a primary focus on children and adolescents. This role involves delivering developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, and family-centered behavioral health services to youth and their caregivers across home, school, and community-based settings.

Core Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive behavioral evaluations (CBEs) with a focus on developmental, emotional, behavioral, and family      system functioning in children and adolescents.
• Coordinate and support psychiatric evaluations and re-evaluations, including collaboration with prescribing providers.
• Provide individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based and trauma-informed interventions tailored to youth populations.
• Deliver caregiver-focused interventions, including psychoeducation, parenting support, and family systems engagement.
• Develop individualized, strengths-based treatment plans in collaboration with youth and families, ensuring goals are measurable, observable, and developmentally appropriate.
• Monitor and follow up on initial evaluations, ensuring clinical interventions address identified diagnoses and presenting concerns.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including DAP (Data, Assessment, Plan) notes, reflecting clinical progress, barriers, and outcomes.
• Ensure all services are aligned with treatment plans and meet medical necessities and regulatory standards.
• Assess psychosocial, environmental, and educational factors impacting youth functioning and incorporate findings into treatment planning. 
• Coordinate care with schools, including communication with teachers, counselors, and IEP/504 teams when appropriate and authorized.
• Collaborate with primary care providers, psychiatrists, child welfare professionals, and other systems involved in the child’s care.
• Identify and respond to risk factors including abuse, neglect, suicidality, and behavioral crises; follow mandated reporting requirements and safety protocols.
• Monitor for adverse reactions to psychotropic medications and communicate concerns promptly to the treatment team.
• Facilitate discharge planning and aftercare coordination to ensure continuity of care and successful transition across levels of service.
• Provide referrals to community-based resources and support services for children and families as needed.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and biweekly clinical supervision.
• Complete all required documentation, training, and compliance requirements in accordance with CBH, DHS, and state regulations.
• Maintain cultural competence and deliver services responsive to diverse linguistic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support program operations.

Compliance and Training Requirements

• Complete a minimum of ten (10) hours of continuing education annually.
• Complete all CBH-required training within three (3) months of hire and annually thereafter.
• Obtain and maintain FBI clearance, Pennsylvania criminal background check, and child abuse clearance within 90 days of employment.
• Complete Child Protective Services Law (CPSL) training and maintain compliance with mandated reporter requirements.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited institution in a clinical mental health discipline (e.g., psychology, counseling, clinical social work, psychiatric nursing, marriage and family therapy).
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing psychotherapy, with preference for experience working with children, adolescents, and families.
• Demonstrated knowledge of child development, family systems, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based practices for      youth.
• Strong clinical documentation and communication skills, including proficiency in behavioral health terminology.
• Basic computer proficiency for electronic health record (EHR) documentation.
