POSITION SUMMARY:
The Fiberglass / GRP Repair Technician is responsible for restoring and modifying fiberglass components to meet high-quality standards for both structural integrity and visual finish. This role requires advanced repair skills, gelcoat spraying expertise, and a strong eye for detail in polishing and finishing. Working in fast-paced production environments and tight spaces, the technician plays a key role in ensuring vehicles are delivered with precision craftsmanship and durability.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Live and role model company values and culture at all times
Perform large and small fiberglass repairs on both exterior and interior GRP surfaces
Modify fiberglass parts, including lengthening, shortening, or reshaping components
Spray gelcoat and paint with precision and consistency
Polish gelcoat and painted surfaces to achieve a flawless finish
Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, equipment, and workstations
Monitor inventory of fiberglass, gelcoat, and related materials; report low stock to supervisor
Contribute to process improvements for repair quality, efficiency, and consistency
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
Minimum 5 years of experience in fiberglass repair; 10 years preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience spraying gelcoat; 10 years preferred
Proven ability to modify fiberglass parts and perform structural adjustments
Bodyshop experience is a strong asset
Expert-level skill in polishing gelcoat and understanding of polishing materials and techniques
Comfortable working in confined spaces and maintaining a fast-paced workflow
Strong attention to detail, craftsmanship, and pride in finished work
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Regularly lift up to 10 lbs, frequently up to 25 lbs, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, bend, stoop, reach, climb ladders, and work at heights.
Exposure to vibration and moving mechanical parts is common
